I am Adam Peaslee, owner of R.N. Peaslee and Sons. My grandfather Robert N. Peaslee founded, Robert N. Peaslee, Carpenter & Builder in 1947. Grandpa was a second-generation carpenter who grew up working with his dad, David, and brothers Roland, Ralph, and Rosco. They built houses and other unique projects with the Weeds family who lived across the street. It was shortly after coming home from the Second World War, that he started his own business. Grandpa built houses all over the Lake’s Region in an era when almost every aspect of the job was done “in-house.” He was a framer and a finish carpenter, held plumbing and electrical licenses, built chimneys and fireplaces, tiled floors, and poured foundations with a small cement mixer. Truly an era when men were “jacks of all trades and masters of one,” my grandfather was a true renaissance man, in a sense, with a love for reading and study, history, and hard manual labor.
In 1985, my father Dan and his brothers Jon and Andrew bought the company and incorporated under the present name, R.N. Peaslee and Sons. In the following years, the work they pursued took them into high-end homes, working for some of the area’s premier architects, and earned a reputation of integrity, craftsmanship, and “friendly personalities,” as my dad put it. We employ a talented group of people who take pride in their work, producing some of the finest framing and finish jobs in the area, while managing all other aspects of the building process with care. We specialize in custom homes in the Lakes Region, while also filling our schedule with kitchen and bathroom renovations, porches, and garages. Today, I run the company with the same love for the trade that grandpa had, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with you on your next project! |
